Building for the web since 1995 and working with Drupal since 2010. I'm strongest on the front-end and on Drupal module work, and I'm at my best inside a team. I help maintain Easy Breadcrumb, a Drupal navigation module that ships with Drupal CMS and is used on more than 115,000 sites.

  • Drupal 8 Multilingual Demo - Core readiness contributions. Contributed to the demonstration project during Drupal Core's alpha and beta cycles, helping prepare Core for multilingual deployment.

Professional Experience

Independent — Open Source & Ecosystem Study | Jun 2023 – Present

  • Planned a three-month break at 46 and extended it to three years. Used the time to study, to volunteer at a local animal rescue, and to plan my future Drupal career trajectory in the quickly-changing age of AI.
  • July-Sept 2026: shipped a release for Easy Breadcrumb extending test coverage to every configuration option, a correctness fix needed by work underway in the Drupal CMS team, and a major bug fix for Config Suite to allow syncing to work for all delete cases.
  • Developed a local containerized AI workflow for safe parallel orchestration of multiple harnesses using DDev and T3Code with spec-driven development using Strikethroo.

Redaptive.com | Staff Software Engineer | Nov 2018 – Jun 2023

  • Started as the sole front-end and Drupal developer and grew the engineering operation into a team, establishing the code standards, Git workflows, and technical documentation the department worked under.
  • Built decoupled React front ends against enterprise Drupal installations on Acquia Cloud, integrated real-time AWS data streams, and worked cross-functionally with an internal Java engineering team.
  • Set up engineering knowledge management and project governance across the Atlassian suite, writing the Confluence documentation and structuring the Jira workflows.

  • Alzforum.org (Fidelity Biosciences)
    • Lead developer on the rebuild of a 15-year-old scientific networking platform into a Drupal architecture hosted on Acquia.
    • Migrated the platform off MSSQL with Apache Solr indexing, supporting thousands of users creating their own annotations and comments alongside dozens of PubMed paper-citations, news articles, and reviews published daily.
    • Integrated a third-party vendor's responsive template into a custom theme.
    • Built a custom publishing and review system that pulled nightly scientific updates from PubMed APIs.
  • General Electric (Inside GE Software): Built an internal responsive corporate platform on custom installation profiles, heavily leveraging panels for flexible content editing.
  • University of Phoenix: Worked directly with Acquia teams to launch an agile, responsive research portal for research fellows on aggressive timelines.
  • Johnson & Johnson: Engineered mobile-responsive Drupal sites for One Touch diabetes testers and Children With Diabetes, building multi-step AJAX-driven forms with custom Google Analytics tracking funnels.

A Drupal 6 portfolio-driven wedding photography and video service site, integrated with Jenkins for CI/CD, featuring customer sign-in, availability checking, pricing, video/album services, and a blog/planning resources section.
